Water Wars

Wednesday night July 18th is going to be a fun night around Thrive.  There will be a slip and slide and all the games we play that night will involve water and getting soaked.  Students are asked to wear shorts and dark t-shirts that can get wet.   We will be grilling out as well.  Students need to bring a towel and a change of clothes.  Fun starts at 7pm and we will get done by 8:45pm.  If you have any questions, please give Pastor Eric a call.

Just A Thought
Hope everyone is having a good week and has big plans to celebrate the 4th of July with your friends and family.  Remember we do not have services this week because of the Holiday.  Grill out, eat ice cream or watermelons, watch fireworks, and make as many memories as you can.  We will pick up with week 4 of Soul Detox on Wednesday, July 11th.  With only five weeks of Summer left, Thrive has some really fun things planned.  Know that if you have any questions or need anything, we are here for you.  I believe that your student(s) are some of the most awesome in the world and I am honored to be their Youth Pastor.  Thank you for letting us take this journey with your family.

Missions Trip

We have over 20 students and leaders heading down to the Real Life Children's Ranch in Okeechobee, FL, Sunday July 8th to serve.  During the mornings, we will be working on projects around the ranch.  In the afternoons, we will be spending time and doing recreational activities with the kids.  We will have organized, fun summer events for the kids and staff in the evenings.  This is a great opportunity for our students to show the love of Jesus through serving and relationships. Would you please pray with us that God will do some awesome things?

Also, if you have a student going on this trip with us, there is a lunch/prayer/training time this Thursday from 12pm - 3pm.

It's Learned
We have a bad habit at our house of using the word "seriously" too much.  Something catches us off guard or even excites us and we reply with, "seriously?"  A few weeks ago our dog Laney pooped in the house and when Jaylen found it she responded with, "SERIOUSLY LANEY?!!?"  It was a funny moment.  That moment made me think, if Jaylen can pick up on one word, what else is she picking up on.  What else is she learning from me?  Is she learning to be loving and kind or negative and mean?  Is she learning to be generous and giving or greedy and selfish.  Does she hear me pray, so that she will know how to pray?  Does she see me worship so that she will know how to worship?  How much does she see me reading the Word of God?  Do I do these things enough so she understands it is a priority?  A lot of how our kids act and react they learn from somewhere.  The scary thing is that most of the time it comes from us.  What are you teaching your kids by how you live?

Cookout
We will have our next cookout on Sunday July 15th at 5pm at Eric and Paige's House.  Cost is $5.
